Hello together

i am new to the Video/Premiere Pro business , but i worked with Photoshop for more than 5 years .

I watched some tutorials regarding cutting and using Premiere Pro , and now i wanna do some own tests.

I have a Canon 6D and a 50 mm Sigma 1,4 , so no cheap lense on it .

I did some Test Shots and now i wanna do the editing .

I saw a video on youtube and i really love the look

"Blackout" (Canon 6D- 60fps test) - YouTube

especially the sequence with the rain on  the glass and the yellow flower  i really love that look , and here comes the problem :

- it looks "movie like" soft , not to much contrast sharp and clear kinda much depth

- when i check my videos they look a lot more harder /more contrast , and what i really don't like  : they all look kinda

over sharpened and no depth

i am sure this guy did some work with colors and contrast  ,but does anybody has some good hints for beginners ?

I googled a lot and saw many hits regarding "movie look " but i didn't like them

Part of achieving the look in the linked video depends on how it was shot and the other part is how it was color graded. If you have experience with the Camera Raw plug-in in Photoshop or with Lightroom then Premiere's Lumetri effect will be very familiar to you. Here are some resources for getting started with it.

When you say your video has no depth is that because you're shooting with a small aperture? You have a f/1.4 lens on a full frame camera, so getting insanely shallow depth of field is well within your reach. If your shots have shallow DoF but you still feel like your color is lacking depth could you be more specific, or better yet, post some high resolution screenshots of your colored video?

Premiere Pro's New Lumetri Color Panel Is Super Powerful & Intuitive. Here's How to Use It
