I updated to PP 2026 and upgraded my previous 2025 project to the new year version. Now PP is basically unusable it's awful. Constant rainbow wheel and frozen every other click. I literally can not use anything and now I cannot access my project file in the old 2025 version which works perfectly since I already upgraded the project file and their not backwards compatible and Adobe has no tool for this and the 3rd party tools that do exist are not working to convert the 26 file to 25. I need help on this ASAP I have the fully maxed out M4 Max laptop and editing the best SSD's you can buy so its not a hardware issue, its once again as always an Adobe issue, If this does not get resolved I am canceling my years of membership tomorrow and switching to DaVinci for good. Thank you

Same issue on my end. Updated, (against my better judgment) from 2025 to 2026 and the rainbow wheel is freezing premiere around every 30s over simple things like just moving my playhead or dropping lumetri on a clip. I’m also running a maxed out machine with an M4 that I have no other issues with. Any help would be greatly appreciated because this is turning my workflow a nightmare.

Your hardware description is not actually helpful, and you dont mention media used, effects or whatnot. So there isn’t any way to actually get usable information either for the devs nor for us who would like to try to help you.

M4, 64GB RAM, working off SSDs, No other adobe programs open. The rainbow wheel appears and the program lags during but not limited to: Simple footage scrubbing, whether it’s 4k footage, 1080p footage, 720p footage, proxies… adding a lumetri filter on clips without even adjusting parameters simply the filter being applied, clicking on a different tool, extending clips, adding keyframes to rubber bands, using rate stretch, adjusting audio filter parameters… It just seems as if the software is buggy and every 30s or so freezes up, the rainbow wheel appears and I have to wait between 5s-15s for premiere to come back to life every single time. Cleared cache, unistalled/reinstalled… Done all the tricks I’ve used over 20 years to hopefully correct the issue and nothing is working.

My hardware is not the issue, respectfully. I was able to run PP 2025 while having AE and PS open all at the same time and never experienced any issues at all. Upgraded to 2026 and poof. Lagging and bugs reared their heads.

I  have the same nightmare problem.  Adobe is the best advertisement for DaVinci.  I’m just about ready to quit.

    Have you dumped cache files?

And btw, have you ever gone through the elaborate process to upgrade Resolve versions?
