I want to create a script that automates creating shot labels for animatics

I want to create a script for Premiere Pro that creates new text clips based on cuts I have made on an adjustment layer.

The new text clips would be generated with on screen shot labels like SH0010, SH0020, SH0030 etc.

How would I go about doing this? CEP seems to be discontinued and I can't download older versions of Premeire that support it, and UXP seems very limited in its abilities right now.

CEP is definitely 100% supported, in current and future versions. No deprecation date has been established or shared.
There is no ExtendScript API (which is what CEP relies upon) to create text layers, but it is possible to import .mogrts and control their parameters; PProPanel does that, here.

You're right, there's no UXP for text layers yet, either.

Hey Zack,

Thanks for the message. I used to do animatics at Pixar long ago. I like the idea you have. I'm not sure what you wish to do is possible, but hopefully, a dev or community member can offer expertise. I relabeled your discussion, so it catches there eye (SDK). I hope someone drops by soon. Sorry for the delay.

Thanks,
Kevin
