Import Premiere Mobile Project has import failure

I’m attempting to open a Premiere Mobile project on my desktop but keep getting an import error. I am using the latest 26.3 build and after selecting the project from Import Premiere Mobile Project, I am given a Import File Failure with no details. I also tried using the latest BETA Build (26.5) and it gave me the same error with no details. For testing, I rolled back to the 25.6.6 build but was met with the same Import File Failure, although this time, I actually got some detail, A low-level exception occurred in: OpenTimelineIO (projectconverter:2).

 

I have opened the file location and found that all the footage is there, a premiere project file is there, and two .otio files are in the folder. One being a prmobile.otio file. Just dragging and dropping the otio files into premiere also returns a Import File Failure; the .prproj file is empty.

 

Has anyone encountered this and may have a solution?

    There may be an effect or transition that is not supported in Premiere Pro.
    Did you use any third party effects or transitions in the mobile project?

    So I went back into the project to look and I actually have no transitions on any of my clips yet. What I do have is a single clip, cut multiple times on one layer. Then I have two separate layers with short clips, cropped, to be overlayed on the main layer.

     

    I’ll remove the two clips that are cropped and see if that fixes anything, though that would be silly if the cause.

    Did removing the crop help?

    If you’re still seeing this error message after removing the cropped clips (which I agree, would need some further investigation) maybe we start fresh. Leave the cropped clips out of the project, and delete all the assets on your computer. Go back to your mobile device, and re-send the project to Premiere.

    If it doesn’t work the usual way, try opening Premiere (26.3) and from the homepage, use the toolbar at the top to go to File>Import Premiere Mobile Project.

    If your mobile project synced properly, it should be available to open from there. Let us know if you see the same error.
