Question

Imported assets always go to the same bin

I recently upgraded to Premiere 2017, and now when I import media, it always goes to the same bin.

This happens if I right-click a different bin and choose Import from the contextual menu, if I select a different bin and use the CRTL+I keyboard shortcut, and If I use the menu File>Import. The only way I can get my media to go to a specific bin is to drag and drop it onto the bin.

This isn't a critical bug, but it's certainly a change from previous versions and gets pretty annoying. I have to drag the asset from the "import" bin into the correct bin every time I import something.

BTW - This happens also if I create a new asset within Premiere, like a new sequence. Those also go to the same bin, then have to be moved.

Hi Joetheyeti,

I apologize for this weird behavior in the latest release of CC2017. We have reported this issue/bug to the concerned team and we are working on a fix. I understand that this will affect your normal workflow, but manually managing assets is the only workaround (as of now).

Same issue reported here: Importing to a selected folder

Thanks,
