Imported avi file not transparent background, has black BG

Question

Im having an issue with a certain file that is supposed to ahve a transparent background but is currently showing a black background. It was made in AE and has the rgb + aplha setting checked. I did an edit on another video just before this one and the file worked just fine. How can i fix this?

I managed to get it to work. Not quite certain if this is an actual reason or not but instead of double clicking in the imported media box, i right-clicked > import > chose video and then it magically worked. Is this an actual thing?
