Question

Imported Clips from a C300 Mark II and C200 and they are all named "CLIPS001"

Went to the Media Browser, clicked the root folder that held the "CONTENTS" folder, and context-menu'd "Import" and every clip is named "CLIPS001". This did not happen with the previous version, just this new Premiere 2020.

Same here. Ridiculous.

Yes, this is happening to me too. I have been using the 2019 workaround for now. I also discovered that proxies must be made in 2019 as well--if I open the project in 2020 before creating the proxies, the proxies will all be called CLIPS001 as well, even if the clips in Premiere have the correct file names.

Same! Please fix. Using the 2019 work around for now. Very annoying.

Same thing here. Started a project in Premiere 2019, upgraded to 2020, now any clip I import is named CLIPS001.

I'm using footage from a Canon C300 Mark II and trying to import the MXF files. Even when I do "reveal in finder" and drag the MXF file into my project that way, it's named CLIPS001

Yes, this is happening to me too. Using footage shot on Canon XC15, Premiere Pro CC 2020 v14.0.0 (build 572) imports all clips as "CLIPS001". Maddening!

My workaround is to begin the project in CC 2019, & import all the footage, save and close. Then open the project in CC 2020 and edit.

Yes, can confirm this is happening with me, too. Didn't happen in 2019, only in 2020.

This causes quite a nasty workflow problem!

Was happening on Windows 10 1903, but also on Windows 10 1909.

Just tried importing the clips directly and it does the same thing, they are all named "CLIPS001".
