Importing footage to timeline Causing change in Color hue and saturation

 I imported footage that was 1920x1080 at 59.91 FPS and 30 FPS,  the color space is rec 2100 HLG, My main sequence for the project is at 1920x1080 at 29.97 and is set  to REC 709 and codec is Apple pro res 422 LT, I don't know how to change the color space of this new footage to match my sequence.  as it stands now, when I import the footage to my REC709 sequence  the image hue and saturation on the footage changes drastically, is there a way to recover the original look of the footage in my main sequence (in rec709?)? Any suggestions are welcome- please help

    Basic Color Management 101, which is necessary for us all to learn.

     

    Lumetri panel, SETTINGS tab, the tab NAMED Settings. All CM tools are available there now.

     

    Display Color Management on, auto detect log and auto tonemapping on. Now if you put HLG clips on a Rec.709 sequence  they are transformed by algorithms (not LUT) to Rec.709.

     

    Drop them on an HLG sequence they work fine there also.

    With the coming of wider dynamic range and color gamuts ... which are not the same thing, by the way ... the cameras changed what they recorded. So the apps and we users have to change also.
