Question

Importing Large file sizes

Hi there, this morning I am trying to Import a file approx 75 GB In size and around 19 hours In length.
I noticed Premiere can usually Index approx 5 hours of footage right away, however for this case no progress bar Is appearing after a solid 2 hours,
I get the feeling premier can only handle so much as 4 ish hours took 1 minute to Index (18GB) so 75 GB maybe 30 mins?
My specs are really good too so that Is definitely not the Issue and of course this has only ever happened on a file of this size.

Any help / time frame / If Importing files this size Is possible would be handy

try to create proxies of your video files one by one and not import all of them at once into premiere.

there are many workarounds, 19 hours is too much, you should rough cut your footage one by one,

keep only the ones that you will be using, create proxies of the rough cuts, edit, finish, then replace

with the original rough cuts. you might want to encode matched sequences of your rough cuts before

creating the proxies in separate folders, and when creating proxies from them choose save next to originals

for easier replacement in the final step.

Dunno how far I got you right, I don't know anything about your 75GB of the 19 hours, which format are those ?

how long is each individual video file ?
