Question

Importing or transcoding DV/DVCPRO footage

Hey Adobe community... I'm revisitng some footage from 2007 and I'm having trouble with footage describes as "DV/DVCPRO - NTSC" format.

Premiere won't import it. Media Encoder and EditReady can't work with it either. However, it does open in Quicktime and VLC no problem!

I've seen people say to revert to an older (2017?) version of MediaEncoder but I don't think that will work with my current operating system (Ventura).

Mac does not support those old formats anymore. Windows no problem.

Transcode to Prores to avoid image quality loss.

Off the top of my head, maybe try transcoding that with ShutterEncoder. I think it would read it, and can do several codecs for output.

And you can batch it.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

Thanks! I'm trying to use ShutterEncoder but its struggling even to playback audio with .dv files. QT or VLC can read the audio just fine so I know its there?

Upload a short clip to test.
