Importing sequences take too long - 20min

Hello guys,

I have one very frustrating problem with Premiere CC 2017 (latest version 11.1.2 (22)).

When I try to import some sequence into my project it takes up to 20min!

After message connecting to dynamic link server - and after loading I am getting blank window and I need to wait for 20min to reveal actually what is in that project to be able to import some sequence.

Don't want to mention that my machine is very strong and that isn't an issue. What is the most unbelievable. same operation on my iMac (same version of Adobe) takes for seconds and import is just instantaneous.

All of my workstations are Windows 10 - Z800 (10 of them) have same problem and this is just very very frustrating and we can't work like this.

iMacs (3 of them) works just fine and import is in seconds.

Windows10 machines are till latest updates, also latest version of Premiere pro and also latest drivers.

Is there some workaround for this??? I tried every possible thing and I still have this problem unsolved.

It seems that this is some stupid bug in Adobe premiere as far as I can see here on forum and also on internet.

if somebody have same problem, please respond with your solution for workaround.

At the end, I will be forced to ask for my money back if I don't solve this.

Very angry and without solution

I know this is old, but I was having the same issue.  The project I was trying to import from had some proxy files that were not attached to the right path.  When opening that project, Premiere got stuck "locating media," and we would have to manually relink the proxy files.  However, when we saved and reopened the project, those proxy files were still offline.  We had to right click all files and reattach proxies to the right path.

That solved our issue and we're now able to import sequences from that project.

It's 2023, and I still have this same issue.

Sorry for this issue. Have you contacted support? What did they say? Did you ever find a solution? Please let us know if you have or if you still need help.

Thanks,

Has any solution been found for this issue?

Importing sequences from other projects is taking too long, and this problem is only present on PC's. The Mac version works normally for me.

Best regards

This is just total waste of time...I tried everything even clean installation of windows and clean install of premiere on another machine and problem persist.

Anybody from Adobe??? This is not a problem just for me!!!

Start with Steps 3d, g and h.  If those don't resolve the issue, keeping those changes in place, work through Step 2.

Blah...nothing is helping...I already tried most of those things but nothing.

I don't have AV installed! All machines have clean updated windows 10 and with only Premiere installed.

What to say...I am pissing off every half hour because of calls to me regarding this problem.

This is last time that I buy Premiere for some project. Just unbelievable...

OK.  Which steps haven't you tried yet?
