Question

Importing split MXF media into a PC

I have some Avid media I'm trying to import. So there is a Video file and two audio files associated with it.

When I drag the Video file into a Mac  it sees the the two audio files and comes in as one media file (1V+2A).

When I drag into a PC it comes in as just one Video file.

Also (the bigger problem) since it doesn't combine them. When I launch the project on the PC it sees all of my clips as offline because it is looking for a 1V+2A file and it only see a video files. I also can't relink because again it is looking for combined media.

Am I missing a button on my PC the see these as combined?

Using Premier Pro 2017 on both machines.

Tried upgrading PC to 2018 and it still didn't work

I would suggest using the Media Browser panel, navigating to the folder with the media on disc, then selecting and "importing" them via PrPro's process for that rather than drag/drop from say Finder/Explorer.

It may not fix this, but often using that process allows PrPro's media database functions to work better.

Thanks for the quick reply Neil I've launched a new project in PC and tried Media Browser to no avail.

Will try using media browser in MAC and see if it translates in PC
