Question

In Adobe Premiere Pro, how do I get the masking lines to show while editing?

After finding the pen masking tool, I tried creating a shape, but no visible indication. So I created a rectangle, which I have no indication is there other than I can move an invisible mask with no borders. My simple question is, how do I get the border of my mask to show?

Just go to the online help for the masking, which is a fairly short read ... and which you see the link to if you hover over the masking tool. Faster than explaining everything again.

Thank you R Neil Haugen for replying to my post and all the other posts I've seen you post on. None of that has helped my with issue, but thank you for the reading material.

I’ve not had any difficulty creating or modifying a mask in the new system ... well, after both reading the documentation and a few minutes working with it. So I do struggle trying to sort out where others are having issues as it’s not that complicated.

Very different, yes! The ways you worked before do not work now. Your muscle memory is working against you. So we all have to re-learn the process. If you are still trying to work or think as before, that is probably the reason for your struggles. You just can’t.

It’s a new process. Re-learn how to do masking, which shouldn’t take too much time.

But once done, it’s pretty amazing and yes, way past what I would ever have attempted in Premiere before. And faster.
