Insane Render Time Using BlueFX

Hey everyone! Newbie in the community so thanks in advance for your help with my inquiry 😃

I have been noticing that when I use NewBlueFX, specifically the skin touch up tool, my render times jump a ton. I expect that any fx added to a project will add to the render time but the change is substantial. Fo example, I have a 12 minute clip that has basic additions such as vignette, transitions ect. It renders in less than 3 minutes max. I then add skin touch up and the render time given the same export settings, jumps to 12+ hours. Does this seem right? I have tried different clips and removing/adding other effects just to be sure the problem lies with this specific effect and I get similar results =/  I also noticed the same thing when trying it using other editing suites to be sure there wasn't an issue between premiere and the effect. I don't want to completely trash this effect its been paid for and a lot of my clients love the clean look it gives them. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Some Spec info just in case:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5820K CPU @ 3.30GHz (12 CPUs), ~3.3GHz

Memory: 16384MB RAM

Video Cards: Dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980

even if you spent around $2k for a cpu that is 2x faster, your 3 min timeline would still take 6+ hours, and that is only if the plugin can scale to 12+ cpu cores. i doubt you would find 6 hours acceptable either. i think there is something wrong with the plugin, nothing should take that long. i would contact with newbluefx and see if they can resolve it, or look at a replacement plugin like beauty box or cosmo II.

This kind of jump in render time is commonly seen with grain/noise reduction. which is very computationally expensive.

If you have access to the skin touch up settings, try to see if this is indeed being used, and perhaps tweak them to lower the render time, or even switch them off entirely if you can live with the result.

Thank you! I just wanted to be sure I didn't have unrealistic expectation in render time, given the effect. I'm going to message NewBlueFx and dabble in Cosmo to see if I can get the same smooth skin look, without spending my entire day rendering the clip lol.

If I get any news of a known issue with the plug in I'll be sure to update here in case anyone else is having a similar issue!

All else being equal, your only hope is to get a faster CPU.

I was hoping that my specs wouldn't be the issue as I just upgraded my pc and the sales rep swore up and down I wouldn't fall short. That's what I get for listening to a store sales rep I suppose I also use multiple Red Giant effects from time to time and it never affects my render time to such an extent. I figured the NewBlueFX are a bit more on the basic level so they wouldn't be so taxing when it comes to render times.

Do you have any specific recommendations of an above average cpu that can stand up to labor intense fx rendering?
