"Insert graphic into text" fail - Premiere 15.0

Hi all,

I joined this community to see if someone can help me to fix this (supposed) bug.
I have a big project in Premiere Pro 15.0 on a PC, and in the timeline I have many texts.
Now, in some of those text I've put some images (Jpg or Tiff) using the tool Title>Graphic>Insert graphic into text.
All good, everything went smooth and I could export my file.
But the, trying to reopen the project, a few weeks ago all the images imported in that way are not working (and just those, hundreds of outher pictures perfectly work): opening the project I get an import error and I can't see my images (there should be a little jpg icon  of a car istead of "LOGO")

In the meanwhile, I didn't do any update to the PC, or software.
I already tried all suggested workarounds on the web:

- moving the images to another folder
- rename jpg into png
- clear all media cache files
- changing to RGB (they were already), or changing bit depth
They didn't work.
Any solution? Anyone experienced this issue ?? thanks so much
Paolo

The Legacy Titler is not supported in newer versions of Premiere, so I don't think updating will help.

If there's a chance Premiere is still storing the path of the graphic, you can find it and even update it in the project XML.

Here's how to access it:

  1. Duplicate your .prproj file.
  2. Change the extension to .zip or .gzip.
  3. Unzip the file.
  4. Open the file in a text editor.
  5. Search for the filename of the graphic. You can also search for the XML tags </Dependency> or <Tag>.
  6. If you find the file path, you can update it in the text editor and save it. Change the extension back to .prproj and try opening it in Premiere.

Also, if you haven’t already, it might be a good time to explore the Essential Graphics panel. It’s a powerful tool that offers more versatility and makes working with external graphics a lot easier.

Did you move the images location or rename folder/file? if so and If possible, move the images files back to its original location or rename it to its original name to match the path stored in the project.

Updating as in using the Essential Graphics Panel soon to be the Properties Panel/Effect Controls

If I recall correctly this might be a bug (and no fix as you are using an old version)

If the titles are static, its best to use the image outside or rather over the Titler instead of inserting by using logo/image
