Instagram Logo - The text doesn't become invisible when goes down to the mask

Hi guys,

I hope you are all ok. I have an issue a couple of days now.

I have followed the tutorial for Instagram logo as you can see in the Youtube video below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayPmWk9rk6g&t=718s

The problem starts when I create a keyframe so the text can go down where the mask is located. At 11:48, you can see that this person is creating a keyframe so the text goes down to become invisible. I follow the exact same steps but the text doesn't go anywhere. I change the y direction of the text to go down, but again the text doesn't leave. Do you have any idea why is this happening?

Many thanks.

    Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out. The workflow that you are using looks correct. I'd like to know a few things before we start troubleshooting:

    • Could you share a screen shot of Effects Control panel while text layer is highlighted?
    • Does the text not move at all or is it moving but not disappearing?

Also, there are a few things that one should take note of:

    • If the text is moving but not disappearing then make sure that Mask is not moving along with text. In case, text is not moving at all then make sure that animation keyframes are setup properly.
    • You can move the playhead between the keyframes to check if the Y value changes as you move the playhead back and forth.

Let us know if that helps.

    Thanks,

    Shivangi

You need to change the position from the graphics panel and not the master position of the layer

Make sure you click on the stopwatch so I can make keyframes once you change a Y value of your text (make sure its selected).

He is just changing  the Y position with sthe stopwatch  activated and the mask takes care of making it invisible once its value is off the mask coordinates. Good luck
