Install question

In a previous discussion I submitted on this forum I was told that Adobe would mail me an install disc because I was in a remote area of Alaska on a very slow and unreliable isp (Hughesnet) . Based on that I purchased a 1 year prepaid PP CC 2017.  I was told after purchase to contact support and they would mail me a disc copy.  When I contacted support I was told Adobe no longer provides that service which must impress the stockholders but not me.  My question now is can I have a friend with access to normal isp download and mail me the install files. During all of my failed attempts at downloading that I could never complete it seemed like you were locked in the install process with the machine you were downloading on.  Can anyone tell me if this is a doable process to have someone else download this for me and then mail me the install files.

Thank you for your help

Direct download links do actually exist, they're just hard to find. ProDesignTools has been keeping track of these since Creative Cloud was released. Here's their post for CC 2017: Adobe CC 2017 Direct Download Links: Creative Cloud 2017 Release | ProDesignTools

And here's the direct link to Adobe's site with the downloads: Download Creative Cloud apps

Clicking on AME, for example, starts to download a 960 MB file, as opposed to the smaller Creative Cloud installer, which would then pull down the apps separately.

    David:

Thank you very much for the links. I will try them tonight instead of the CC installer I have tried every evening for the past 5 days. My situation is such that my isp's daily data allotment is 840mb. In order to avoid a shutdown for exceeding there daily limit they provide a 5 hour window every evening from 10pm till 3am where the use does not count toward your daily allotment. The problem is everyone uses this window and the throughput is very slow consequently any large files are impossible to download.

You're welcome, and good luck with that. The smallest download is Audition, which comes in at under 700 MB, but aside from that and AME, all of the other downloads are over 1 GB. Illustrator is 1.9 GB!

Maybe you can find a download manager plug-in for your browser (or maybe it will work natively in the browser) that will allow you to pause a download without losing your progress. I know some browsers let you pause, but I've had issues with downloads timing out after awhile; but it's worth looking into if you know that everyone else is going to be using the bandwidth at the same time.

I don't believe this will be possible.  There is no Premiere Pro install executable (that I know of).  Instead, you install the Creative Cloud desktop application, which acts as an install manager, downloading and installing the software for you.

I can install the Creative Cloud desktop application but any and all attempts to start the download process fails. It appears anyone with a slow isp is doomed unless they relocate to somewhere with one. Very disappointing especially after being told prior to purchase that a disc would be mailed if unable to download.
