Hello Everyone.

For many years I use the Interpret Footage to slow down my footage. After watching some Video Tutorials on Interpret Footage, It seems like It Is better to use the Speed Duration.

Would you please let me know which Technique is better

Thank You Very Much.

I always used the features as it was designed for:

Interpret footage if Premiere got the framerate wrong and Speed for fast or slow motion.

Time remapping for ramps.

I dont know which is better but I have never seen the advantage of using Interpret footage for speed.

Maybe I am in PAL land and we have but 2 framerates: 25 and 50. I avoid ntsc framerate at all times.

But if you really want good slomo then this imo is the way to go:

I have co-workers who do the Intertrpet footage way, and I do the Speed Duration, and I need them to stop doing it the Intertpet Footage way because I work with proxys and the files don't match up when I open their project files.

This is another reason to do it the way the guy in the video describes. Thanks for sharing that video, I will share it with my co-workers!

Yep. Interpret footage does not work well in collaborative workflows, so as an editor if you ever plan on working with a colorist or audio engineer, even other editors, it's best to avoid some proprietary Premiere features. Merge Clips is another one that will get you into trouble.
