Question

iPhone screen recording blurry on exported file

I've attached an image that I hope illustrates the issue. Blurry exported result on the left, sharp original on the right.

Sequence settings image also attached.

I've exported as:

Match Source - Adaptive high bit rate. Image attached.

Match source high quality 1080 HD. Image attached.

YouTube 1080 Full HD. Image attached.

Assistance most appreciated.

Try exporting at a higher bitrate.

You can also try turning off hardware encoding.

One thing you can try is selecting your clip on the timeline, then going to the Lumitri tab and select "Settings".  Then go slightly below and select override. Switch from HLG to Rec 709.

If you have a transition applied to the clip then this could be the issue. This has happened to me before. I cut the transition right as the screen appears and discontinue the effects of the transition. This does the trick.

if you do have a transition, toggle it in and off

after the transition takes place to see if the blur is there even after the transition is completed.

let me know if you don't have a transition applied or an adjustment layer.

Thanks for the swift response, Dan.

I don't have any transitions or adjustment layers applied.

Hmm this is interesting. I've only seen this happen when there was an effect or transition that was causing the blur.

it looks like the white values and colors are slightly different in the two screen shots. The right screengrab has a more true color than the left.

can you click on your clip to see if there are any effects applied? Also check the lumitri to see if there is anything set in there as well.

Your settings look normal. This is interesting
