Question

Is it me or has warp stabiliser gotten much worse in the last couple of upades?

As per the title.

It wasn’t with the latest update, believe the previous major one, but I’ve been finding Warp Stabiliser completely unusable all of a sudden, somehow hell bent on stabilising the completely wrong area of the picture in a way it never used to.

Sure, you can still use AE and the tracker, but the ability to drop it in, choose position+scale+rotation and set to 10 or % used to work a treat in taking the edge off a handheld shot, now it seems to constantly overdo it and stabilising the furthest area in shot at the expense of a usable shot.

Anyone else found this to be the case?

Along with the abysmal masking tool changes it’s the kind of things that makes you wonder why you haven’t moved to Resolve yet...

It can depend a lot on what motion you want it to stabilize. Different motions require different settings, and so you should try working with the settings to get what you want from it.

Like Ann, it’s been working the same here for years now. Not that I’d mind a bit of updating, mind you ...

I think WS does a wonderful job.

In some instances It can perform wonders not miracles.
