Question

Is it possible to adjust Mercury Transmit settings for playback on external monitors?

Hi!
I am trying to understand how Adobe premiere pro works with the Mercury Transmit function to display preview on an external monitor.

Which settings, if any, in PremPro affects the playback quality on the external monitor?
I have tried to mess around with the sequence preview settings but it does not seem to have any impact on the playback on the external monitor.

If I experience audio out of sync with the playback on the external monitor, is there any settings that can solve this?

I run external monitor over a BlackMagic Design Decklink card and it works fine but one is always curious about how to tweak stuff if possible :-)

Thanks advance for any input regarding this!

Adobe doesn’t actually do ‘anything’ to the T-O image. So other than the Sync options Richard pointed out, there isn’t anything to adjust or set.

The way BM sets their software for the Decklinks can be fun too, as at times that requires incoming data to conform to some unexpected data set, which of course Resolve knows and will use, but ... no other software auto-knows this. I think it’s part of BMs entire attempt to set up as nearly an isolated BM “ecosphere” as possible. Like ... all their tabletop hardware only works with Resolve, you can’t use their panels with any other software.

As I work for/with/teach pro colorists, most of them based in Resolve, and most of them have Decklinks and also most other NLEs installed so they can fix problems on incoming projects ... I hear a lot about issues with Decklink and other apps.

    Everyone's mileage always varies ...

There are a couple of options in the Premiere preferences for sync issues.

    No, it´s not possible.

The idea with BMD cards is to get 100% quality, always, and thats why they not have included any options to degrade the output. Changing Sequence preview settings or any other setting inside Premiere do not change this fact. If you have problems with the output from the BMD card, A/V sync issues, you should contact BMD support.

I can´t check now, but i don´t think there is a setting for A/V sync in the app for the BMD card.
