Is it possible to create submix tracks and assign those stracks to channels?

Question

I'm trying to do a really specific 4 channel export and i'm having no luck at all.

So now i'm trying to use submixes, i'm "send"ing each track that needs to be in each channel (some tracks are in multiple channels) to submix then trying to assign that submix to a channel and then not assigning any of the actual tracks to a channel.

is this possible?

As far as I understand, submixes are used in the directon of things prior to the Output.

I think to do what you're trying to do you'd need to do that by clips back in the Project panel. Modify, Interpret Footage I think is where the Audio channel assignments are changed. And that's where you can add channels.
