Is premiere pro a single or multi threaded software?

Premiere is multi-threaded, seems quite good at using up to 12 to 16 or so cores according to say the Puget Systems testing and others. Not so good at utilizing cores past that at the current time. So a 16 core CPU would be a good choice, where a 24 core CPU may not get you much additional throughput.

 

I'm not familiar with Photoshop for this sort of thing. The two apps do not share much if any code, of course. Still image processing being by nature a very different beast, and both apps are many years down their own development trails.
