Is the new version of Premiere Pro lagging for you as well?

Question

When I drag and drop B-roll footage into Premiere Pro, it takes 2–3 seconds to appear. I’m also experiencing delays when scrolling through the Project panel some clips only become visible after a couple of seconds.

My system has an Intel Core i9 14th Gen processor and an RTX 4070 Super GPU, so performance shouldn’t be an issue. I didn’t face any of these problems in the previous version of Premiere Pro.

Could you clarify which version you mean by "new"? Sharing the exact version number, for example 26.3.0 (Build XX), would help.

In the meantime, try these steps:

Close Premiere Pro and clear the Media Cache completely, including the cache, peak, and related files. Clear the media cache
Reset Premiere Pro Preferences. Reset preferences at launch
Update your graphics driver.
