Is there a *real* typewriter effect in version 2025?

What I'm looking for is the text appearing letter by letter, not a wipe or a mask or something. I've searched tutorials but all I found was wipe effects dragged onto the text. I'm new to Premier but good at after effects, where there are text animation resets. Does premier have something like this aswell? I found graphic templates but not text animators specifically.

Apparently you haven't paid attention?

Adobe bought FilmImpact, and all of it's rather spiffy set of transitions and effects, including the typewriter, are available to all Premiere users and have been for what, a month now?

Thats so sad that since 1991 adobe just can't put a simple effect like this one, I'v seen people paid for others softwares like capcut just to get this and a lot of others effects

oh, my fault, but since 1991 until this last month we haven't a simple effect, this is REALLY not to pay attention, don't you think?

I'd recommend checking out Film Impact Typewriter.
It can auto-detect individual characters by analyzing transparency around a character.
This works with the text tool right within Premiere Pro. Alternatively, you can work with PNG and PSD files.

Here is a video on how to use the effect:

Premiere does not have a real typewriter effect, nor animation presets.

Ae is the way to go if you dont want to do workarounds.
