Is there a way to automatically attach SRT captions to Mp4 when importing into Premiere?

Hi,

I have hundreds of downloaded YouTube videos, each with its automatically generated.SRT caption file.

I would like to bring the mp4 files into Premiere and automatically attach the caption file.

I enabled "Include captions on import" in preferences and that isnt working.

Any thoughts?

 

As an alternative, I am open to embedding the SRT into each video if that would help.

Any thoughts on how best to do this without having to re-encode?

    A quick google search suggests 'Subler' might be able to do this.
    Otherwise, it's pretty easy to drag srt files above you clips and create a caption track.
