Is there a way to specify the GPU on the new MacBook Pro i9 VEGA

Latest version of Premiere

3 week old fully specc'd out Macbook Pro

I'm cutting 2.7K DJI footage straight of the internal HD (2650 MB/s R/W)  which although isn't the best codec I feel should play smoothly with that kinda bandwith of the HD. The computer is overheating, fans going nuts. I'm wondering if it's using the Intel GPU instead of the VEGA 20?

Also should I select METAL or OpenCL in the project settings?

Firstly thanks so much for taking the time to reply.

The first thread is 7 years ago and the second is 5 years ago so none of the issues associated with this mac or GPU existed back then. Any thoughts?
