Rotation happens around the anchor point, and text poses special problems, because the default anchor position is never in the middle. To rotate text around its center, move the anchor point to the middle and rotate using the control in the Text section of the Effect Controls. For example, if you use the rotation in the Vector or Video sections, their anchor points are in the middle of the entire frame, and the text box will rotate around the frame center.

When moving the anchor point, hold down Ctrl/Cmd to get dotted red lines showing you the middle.

Note that text is in one of two Text Layer Types, Point or Paragraph. They behave differently, and their anchor points are located differently. For this post, just recognize that when dealing with text, work in the Text/Transform section, and look at the Anchor Point location.

I don't think so.

Hey Nabin,

Sorry for the trouble. This graphic has two different rotation parameters. Please ensure that you're adding keyframes to the shape properties. I've attached a screenshot to explain this. The best way to do this would be to select the shape (as shown in your first screenshot) and use the Properties panel to add the keyframes.

Thanks,

Ishan
