Issues with Audio

Hi Folks, when I add gopro footage of me talking to the camera the gopro using a level monitor on the screen records at a good volume however when I import it into adobe it seems to be maxxing out the volume and is distorted I'm sure this is a new problem I dont recall having it before, I read about the annoying slider bars that I'd love to get rid of (The alpha channel? and Volume) on the timeline clips so if I use that to turn it down it's better however I now need to do that to all my clips to keep them balanced,

Another way I found to fix this is use the enhance speech feature however it keeps adding additional voices akin to the sound of 'Sims' going about their daily lives why is it doing this? I had to rush the video out and so had no time to go further into these random male and female voices from nowhere!

I'm not a PRO premiere user so consider that in your replies lol, You can hear the added audio in nearly every conversation with the camera on my video https://youtu.be/LsO1_ZRr_Hk

Correct answer PaulMurphy

Take a look at the Mix setting at the bottom of the Timeline—if it’s set above 0, it’s possible the Mix Volume was accidentally raised. Try setting it back to 0 dB to see if that resolves the issue.

Hi @Adam_the_explorer,

Thanks for the message. When you import the footage and then place it in the Timeline, have you tried simply lowering the levels? Enhance speech won't work in every case. I have had similar issues in certain locations (an airplane interior), where the voices sounded like alien beings (Sims characters, eh?). Let me know if lowering the levels might help.

Thanks,
Kevin

It's adding additonal voices rather than changing my voices, I cant seem to lower the sound in over twenty clips together plus my audio is being recorded from a GoPro Media Mod Microphone so it's not the greatest pro mic! When I'm not talking these random male and female voices are mumbling incoherrant words

Just to clarify I was in a rural area far from civilisation I'm the only one there so these voices are not from anyone!
