Issues with Iphone footage in premiere

Hi,

I am having problems with some footage that was recorded on an iphone and saved as a mov. file. It has horizontal lines which I thought at first was an interlacing problem but was not solved by De-interlacing in the field options.

I have tried re exporting from Quicktime as an mp4. I tried with HEVC checked and unchecked. Still the same lines.

I tried renaming the original file.

I have now downloaded Handbreak and have tried various options but as I'm not really sure what the problem is I'm a bit stuck. Would anybody have any advice please??

I don't want to have to ask to get the clip refilmed!

Ah, I seem to have done it. I used Handbreak. I changed the Encoder options/tune to animation. And I no longer have lines.

Not sure why, and its not perfect but I'm happy with that for now!

Many thanks.

Looks to me you have 2 issues: the horizontal line and display ratio.

Hiya,  the display reatio looks weird in that image yes, but that is not the issue. Its the horizontal lines I need to sort out, thanks.

Could you look at the origional clip in Media Info tree view and post a screenshot of the results.

Thanks for responding. I'm on a mac so can't use that link. Here is a screenshot of the movie inspector in Quicktime. Does that give you the necessary info?
