Question

JPEG Alias

I am using a graphic (4000x3200 8bit JPEG) in a 1280x720p sequence.  The graphic looks fine when imported but starts to break up (aliasing) when I hit play.  I've tried to "deinterlace" even though it's not an interlaced graphic. I've tried reversing field dominance even though it shouldn't have any fields.  Any ideas on why aliasing starts when I hit play?

Thanks

Ed

So, I posted the question and tried some other things.  There is a "high quality playback" selection in the tools (wrench) menu of the program window.  I selected that and the problem went away.  Go figure.  If someone can explain why you WOULDN'T need high quality playback as a default mode, please let me know.

    My guess -

Using High Quality Playback adds more work load to your computer, and depending on the horsepower of your system may have consequences on the apparent smoothness of real time playback.
