Question

JPG's don't show effects and timeline is red, why?

I used to be able to simply add a jpg to the timeline, add motion effects to it and be able to preview it. Now the timeline bar turns red and it won't show the added effects in the preview window. I don't understand why. Please help. Thanks.

Hi timtrick,

Please try rendering the sequence/ timeline and check if you get an updated preview with the effects.

To do this select your sequence, then click Sequence (in the menu bar) > Render In to Out.

Hope it helps.

Thanks,

Sumeet

Try changing the GPU acceleration Mercury Playback Engine, can it be the issue.

Could be all sorts of things. Partly of course, can be influenced by hardware. So sharing your system details would be a nice bit of info to start with. Not that this will give the answer, but it's part of the puzzle.
