Two months ago my system could edit in real time 5 4K's and 1080's in full res. Today after Windows, Nvidia & Adobe updates I cannot. I spent hours on the phone with Adobe several times to the point a senior tech was to call me back and never did. How does Adobe expect people to make a living when these updates completely scramble how your system works. I have been an Adobe customer since 1982 and cannot understand why this is always happening.

All drivers and software involved is up to date and tweaked as far as we can tell. One major thing I noticed is when bringing in footage to a sequence I AM NOT getting the building a peak file! My backup computer is getting that. Adobe tech's don't know what to tell me, hence a Senior Tech is needed. I don't know if this is related to the editing on the time line issue but it sure seems like it could be. My system is Built for performance, more then Adobe software can utilize but it does work super well if the updates would stop scrambling the software. I really could use a programmers mind on this one. Thanks Scott

1- If you haven't tried already, trash the preferences (Hold Shift+Option and launch Premiere)
2- If you got to the point of speaking with Adobe reps, it means that the basic stuff have already been tried (Manual cache clearing, reset permission, trashing preference, etc.) Please tell us what steps did the reps asked you to do?
3-  Building a peak file is directly related to caching. Try changing the location of the cache folder, preferably to a different drive.

4- I will need some detailed info about your system, and most importantly your storage configuration (nb of drives, types and where are you storing media, cache, projects, etc.

5- I would suggest, doing a clean install: Make sure your settings are backed to CC. Download Adobe Cleaner, that will remove everything adobe related, and then re-install your adobe software.
