I did some searching and saw a few posts that included similar things, but figured this is something specific that I sorely miss from fcp1-7

Voted for it ... and here's the one I posted suggesting that by simply holding the M key down during playback, we get a duration marker set for the time it was held down ... we want as many votes on these as possible!

I'll upvote it but not sure it would work for me.  Something more "like extend marker to playhead" would be more useful for me...  bwdik
