Don't you mean crtl+K (add edit).

Cut / paste:

ctrl+X / ctrl+V

Yes, you're ctrl-x is working properly, as i mentioned. The windows keys

ctrl-c = copy (to the clipboard)

ctrl-x = cut (copies to the clipboard and then deletes)

ctrl-v = paste

ctrl-z = undo

So, it's ctrl-k to add an edit. You can map those keys differently, but I wouldn't suggest you map ctrl-x because that's a typical windows key.

So what's the problem then? That's what it does.

The  problem is that it's suppose to cut the clip where the marker is, instead it deltes the whole clip

Did you check your shortcuts EDIT\Keyboard Shortcuts.

Ctrl-X is a windows key for the most part, the default shortcut is to 'Cut' which deletes what is selected. What does yours do?

Yes I did I am using a PC. It deletes the whole clip. I keep going back to edit/shortcuts to see if ctrl+x=cut and it is.
