Latest update blacking out video

I have just opened some projects after updating Premiere Pro and although all of the video files etc have been located and synchronised etc, every video clip is blacked out. Thumbnails are showing in the library window, however they also black out when hovering over them with the mouse. Audio playback is fine, just no video. I'm also having problems trying to export, getting an 'accelerated renderer error' message. I have since tried creating new projects with this version and it's the same story. I've never had any issues running Prem Pro on my laptop until now, but it appears to be completely useless as it is.

Running on an Intel i5 64bit Windows 7 laptop with (i think) 16GB RAM. But, as stated above, struggling to see how it can be hardware as it has been fine for well over a year.

It seems a bit counter intuitive messing with drivers when I've never has the slightest issue with them or anything using them. The current driver version is well over a year old (2015 in fact) so hasn't recently changed, unlike Premiere which was literally updated a week ago. (And the only program that has a problem) I also can't see how a brand new program would be more compatible with an even older driver?

I'll try sourcing the last Premiere again and see if it reverts to how it was.

Hi, yeah I noticed this mentioned on a couple of other threads, checked and although Windows says it is up to date when prompted, I still tried to download newer ones from Intel, but they won't allow me to install as the few I've tried it stated it isn't compatible with my computer. I'm starting to think I may just need to go back to earlier Premiere versions.

Try earlier video drivers instead.

Do not count on Windows to be fully up to date when it comes to device drivers

Go to the vendor site to be sure you have an updated driver for your graphic adapter

•nVidia Driver Downloads http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

•ATI Driver Autodetect http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool

There are also intermittent reports that the newest driver is not always the best driver due to driver bugs or compatibility issues, so you MAY need to try an earlier driver version
