Launching legacy text editor causes PP to freeze

Has anyone had this? The legacy title panel goes white and the whole program freezes for a good 5min before it finally goes back to normal. No crash, and the editor does work ultimately, but it takes a bloody long time. So this is PPCC 2017 fully up to date and I'm on Windows 10 64bit with a GTX 1070 graphics card.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me quickly. I'll try that if need be, but I mostly use the new text tool now anyway. I was trying to align text but couldn't find how to do that in the effects control panel for the text layers. I then saw that it can be done via the Essential Graphics panel. One thing that would be super useful but doesn't seem to work is to be able to copy keyframes between instances of text applied to one piece of video with the new text tool. Any idea if that can be done? I know this should really represent a new question. I can ask it if you feel it might be useful to others. Cheers

I'm able to copy keyframes (for scale in my test) from one instance of the text created with the Type tool to another instance. I just selected all the keyframes, copied them, selected the text (in the Effect Controls panel) in the other instance and pasted it.

Let us know if you didn't mean that.

    Thanks,
