In bygone days when you linked A/V clips they moved in unison:, until you Unlinked them.
I've never understood why the Link option stopped working.

Wow! That's the correct answer.

I thought that icon did the same thing as the Link option in the drop down did!

Seems kind of counter intuitive. Thanks!

OK, works on PP 25.1 also.

I just took a random clip w/audio and unlinked it, took another random clip, did the same, put the audio of the second one under the first video and linked them, and they act like a normal clip.

 

Are you doing something different?

It seems to be working for me. I'm in the beta, but it was working as explected.

I am not sure i understand the issue here, but what you describe sounds like the correct way. Linked clips moves in unison while un-linked clips don´t since that´s the point when un-linking clips, to have the ability to move only the video or audio portion of the clip.

 

Do you have an example so i can test? (Such as; When i do "this" it works but when i un-link "that" happens and it ruins everything because....)
