LinkedIn Premiere Pro 2025 Course: Exercises files don't work maybe?

i'm following the exercises in the linkedin premiere pro course 2025 and i can't drag drop clips from source monitor to timeline even though the source patching buttons are active and blue for the desired tracks. Have tried reloading the files from the course, restarted my computer, re-set my monitor settings, etc. 

Can you please advise whether the exercise files that are offered as part of the course are working properly and what i can do to make things work, or an alternative work around
