Question

Loading time of a project-peak files

Hello,

I took over a Premiere project from a editor ( 100 minutes movie ).

Now I'm transferring it to my computer. But it takes so long.

Premiere has been running for over 4 hours to load or create the peak files.

And I don't know how long it will take. No time is given and there is no end in sight.

My computer is new, powerful and very fast. It can't be my computer.
Any idea or advice?

Just a guess, don't know if it will work:

Next time have the editor give you the peak files and place them in the same location as the project on the other editor's computer?

Thank you for this advice.

So, it is normal, that Adobe Premiere need so long time ( many hours ) to produce peak-files for a bigger project ?

2. Other question:

Since I have had a large film project and have been working with Adobe Premiere, Premiere freezes very often and I get the error message "no feedback".

I have never had any problems with small or normal projects, only now with a very large project.
Is Premiere less suitable for large cinema projects?

(My system is new and very powerful, everything is distributed on different fast hard drives)
