Question

Locking playheads from 2 sequences

Hi there,

Been a while since I've posted. Glad to see this community is still going strong.

I'm running PrP v22.1.2 and trying to make sure 2 of my sequences are the same.

One that is an older version and one that is newer, but named differently for versioning reasons.

This project has been on hold for a while and I want to make sure that the latest sequence hasn't

been changed at all. In AE you can open two veiwers and lock them so the playhead of one syncs to the other. Is there a way to sync lock 2 sequences in PrP, besides dragging one sequence into the other?

Thanks in advance

Peter O'Neill

Hi Peter,

There is a new ganging feature in the form of a button that works between Source and Program Monitors.

You could load Sequence A in Source and and Sequence B in Program. I don't think they playhack in unison, but will stop on the same frame, so it may or may not be helpful. It works if you scrub, and that may be all you'd need. Up to you.

Multicam might come in handy since it has the tech for playing back simultaneous streams. I think we need ganging 2.0, perhaps.

Thanks,

Kevin

There's no way that I know of to do this.

What about dropping both sequences into a new sequence with them lined up one on top of the other, then select the  'difference' blend mode for the top layer in the opacity controls in Effect Controls. Image will go black if the sequeneces are the same. Anywhere there is a (visual) difference between the two sequences will show up as 'not black'.

For checking audio diference (other than listening) - expand the audio waveforms in the sequence and look for differences.
