Long hang in re-making links In Adobe Premiere Pro Productions

My team and I are in post production with a feature film using Adobe Productions and are experiencing a lot of instability. The biggest hangup is moving sequences to other projects in the production often causes 20+mins of spinning ball time. I've narrowed down the issue to one reel in the project, which for some reason has a large file size even though the links are supposedly set to the media project. In an effort to troubleshoot this, I've migrated to a new production and am trying to reset all links using re-associate source media and generate source clips. Does anyone have a potential solve for this?
