Losing audio waveforms fairly constantly since the latest update (15.4)

Before this most recent update, I never lost audio waveforms. Now about every third clip I place will get placed with no audio showing. Closing the project, opening preferences, opening media cache, deleting the cache and restarting forces Premier to rebuild the audio waveforms and everything is fine... for about 4 minutes until I've place 3 or 4 more clips and then the next one will go down without the audio waveform showing. This makes working with Premier really frustrating and of course impossible to edit any of the audio without clearing the cache and rebooting. Does anyone have an actual fix instead of the workarounds that show up in Google?
