Lot's of noise in over exposed slog 2

I recorded a video of myself in a black t-shirt in slog2 8 bit colour on my sony a6400 and there was heaps of noise in the blacks even tho I had the footage over exposed at +1.7 - +2. the iso was no higher than 1600 and shouldn't have created that much noise. any idea why this has happened?

In my experience and understanding, log encoding primarily protects the upper values. It doesn't help the extremely low values much.

And you have only 8 bit data, and are dealing with pixel data from a black shirt no less.

I wouldn't expect much from the blacks without seeing a lot of noise there.  Well, it's supposed to be *black* right? Don't lift those values.

so is there any way I can fix this?
I don't need too much detail in the blacks I just don't want it to be super noisy

Neat video noise plug-in does awesome work. It's not only preferred in Premiere, but also by nearly all Resolve based colorists I know. Over Resolve's built-in noise removal.
