Making a cut with a caption track already on the timeline makes it skip far down the timeline

Anyone else have this issue? It seems like any time I have a caption track, occasionally when I make a cut to the footage I'll automatically find myself way further in the timeline than where I was supposedly making this cut.

Adobe please fix!
