Mask button does not appear in Mosaic & Gaussian blur

Help, I just updated from Premiere Pro 2025 to the latest version currently 2026 v26.0.0 build 72 but when I want to use the mosaic and gaussian blur effects, the mask button does not appear in the effect controls tab, I put it on the adjustment layer. Using Win10, Core-i5 7200u 16GB RAM. Previously in Premiere Pro 2025 it ran normally

Thank you, I've tried the method you showed in the video. But the tracker doesn't work, and frame by frame doesn't work. This is a downgrade from Premiere Pro 2025. I hope Adobe fixes it or restores it to the way it was in the 2025 version.

Mask feature has been completely overhauled.

Please read the manual as you are going about it all the wrong way.

Use object masking in Premiere Pro

Adjust masks at the clip or frame level in Premiere

When masking, put the effect on the clip, not an adjustment layer

On a side note you do scale an adjustment layer.

I feel uncomfortable too. I want to use the method of choosing a mask for blur effect as usual.

Hopefully this helps.

Click and hold the mouse on the toolbar to create a mask.

Then apply the Gaussian Blur.

Thank you. I've tried it and it does work, but now the frame-by-frame object tracking isn't showing. The tracker isn't working. I don't know if this is a bug or not. This change makes things more difficult for users, but it was better in the previous version, v25
