Question

Mask Handles, will it ever get fixed

A quick google shows this has been an issue for several years (since 2015), and since, there's been several topics on the subject. When drawing a mask in Premiere Pro CC 2018, every now and then, or maybe I should say all the time, the mask handles will disappear, making you unable to alter the mask path. There's been a work around for this suggesting you rename the folder (on mac) "Documents -> Adobe -> Premiere Pro -> 12.0" to "Old 12.0", thus making the application create a new "12.0" folder. However if I did this every single time the problem occurred I wouldn't get much else done. Switching workspace has also been suggested, this works a little better, however, I actually choose a workspace depending on what I'm working on, and quite like using that rather then switching around all the time. So instead of talking about inefficient workarounds, how about Adobe actually try and fix a bug instead of working on new separate features for once? It has been years now, and let's not get started on all the other shit that won't work. It feels like an escalating trend from adobe to just not give a shit whether or not a feature works or not unless it's a new feature, leaving the very core functions to fall apart more and more as we go along.

Sincerely

MarcusS,

Sorry for this situation. If you have not reported this yet, you may want to upvote one of these bugs that most correctly describes this condition: Premiere Pro: Hot (2659 ideas) – Adobe video & audio apps

There's been a work around for this suggesting you rename the folder (on mac) "Documents -> Adobe -> Premiere Pro -> 12.0" to "Old 12.0", thus making the application create a new "12.0" folder.

Another way to do that is described here, which does not force you to rename your main Adobe folder: Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014, or 2014.1 freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later)

This didn't start occurring until around OS X 10.9. Now every time I update macOS, I also run the routine as described on my blog. Please try it and see if it works for you.

Sorry again for the trouble.

Regards,
Kevin
