Question

Mask isn't working. It flickers after I render.

Premeire hates me. I know it.

I have this scene where I need to mask out a laptop. Easy enough - I have the footage without the laptop on the layer above and I created a mask. After rendering it - the mask flickers like crazy, on and off, on and off. I've tried video footage as the mask, as well as a still photo and I have similar issues.

Can someone please help before I throw this computer out my office window? Thanks in advance!

Premiere Pro: 22.2.0

iMac
Processor: 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core
Memory: 32 GB DDR3
GPU: NVDA GeForce GT 755M 1GB

I will look into Mercury Playback Engine Software.
The video does not export properly and looks just like the render inside the program. In fact, the video I shared was an export.

I have the same Problem.
Premiere Pro 25.1 latest version.

Video3: I use feathering on the Mask and Postitioning (keyframed), Maskexpansion (Keyframed)
Video2: Mask and feathering
Video1: Solid Color

After Export or "Render from in to outpoints" The Video 3 Flickers. it produces transparent frames in the area where the keyframes are. Clips are all in the framerate of the timeline. I experienced this in older versions too.

Need Help or an Update with bug fix.

The mask even starts to flicker in the preview window, when I move the slider of the maskexpansion above value 536.

Hi there,

We're sorry about this. Please let us know the version of Premiere Pro that you are using & the system specs. Also, have you tried switching the Renderer to Mercury Playback Engine Software Only & checked if it's exporting properly?

Thanks,

Sumeet

I tried Mercury Playback Engine Software Only and still had the same glitch.
