MASSIVE LINKING MP4 AND MOV FILE ISSUES PREMIER PRO CC

Since the last update 12.1.1 i ve been having massive issues with files not finding media, or interpret video as only Audio. Every time i shout down my laptop (Mac Book Pro 2015  El Capitan OS) i have to relink most of the files. This issue its complete random, one day is a group of files, the next day are another.

So far i have been solving this changing the extension to .MOV, .MP4, MPG you name it, also some footage with more compression, i got away re-converting the files to Pro-Ress HQ, another thing i was avoiding to do, but considering the deadlines had no choice.

Clearly this is not acceptable, im in the middle of deadlines and wasting hours in relinking files every time.

So far haven't found any solution in the forums, anybody found any real solution? Have the people of Adobe made any comments on this?

SAME!! I'm working on a project that I was almost done with. I updated my adobe then the client asked for a few adjustments and I am having to start all the way over because most of the files will not link. I still am having trouble with some of the files only reading as audio files though. This is a nightmare!!! I'm about to have to do this project in final cut! Sucks. Adobe please fix this fast.

I have solved this issue by putting the clips into folders and importing the folders, this works and even linked clips (which appear as audio only) revert back to audio and video clips. Very strange.

Hey Alex! Thanks for your response. Tried it before, didn't work for me. Even though this is something that ADOBE need to fix, it shouldn't be us trying to "find ways to work around".

This makes the software really unreliable for professionals.

Still haven't got any comment from Abobe people.

Hi PabloVer, I have exactly the same issue.

A client sent me a project yesterday which meant I had to update my system version of Premiere Pro (which I would not have done otherwise),

Today I opened an old project with media all linked up. I updated the project file as required and it lost the links and when I tried to relink some (not all) media is interpreted as Audio only??

This is a major bug that needs to be resolved before an update is unleashed on paying professionals surely??

Luckily for me, this is just a showreel update so not on the clock - I would be livid if I was with a client and this happened...
