Matching and normalizing loudness continuously without keyframes

I am trying to mix and normalize audio to match loudness specificatins.

So I tried the "Essential Sound" panel and its normalization to get a starting point.

I can select multiple clips and select "ambience" for example, but as soon as I select this only a few clips of my selection remain selected - sometimes only one. How can I match ALL of those clips?

And another question:

How can I CONTINUOUSLY normalize the volume of a single clip over time without using keyframes?

Is there a way to normalize speech automatically when there are volume changes inside a single clip?

In FCPx I had a simple Loudness-Slider which automatically dialed down the loud parts and raised the quiet ones of a single clip, it works well and saves LOTS of time. How can I achieve this here?

Have a look at one of the dynamics effects under 'audio effects- amplitude and compression'.
